Robbie Comes to Town


To start off the summer right, my best friend Robin came up from Reno to spend a week with us. Here is the recipe for a perfect week:


 I have missed this girl! During her stay we took many a walk, drank way too much soda, shared the beauty of the Dairy Queen S'mores blizzard with others and discovered that we have a deep love and appreciation for Star Trek! Thank you to Robin for amazing visit and to her husband for letting us steal her!

No Children at Church?

Cody and I have been volunteering at Falls City Christian Church  for a couple months now, where we take turns each month, teaching a lesson to the kiddos. Not to brag, but we have discovered the keys to a successful lesson: games and candy. This month, I chose to stray from the typical 'bible story' theme and go over how to pray in general. Praying is such a beautiful, powerful and important aspect of our relationship with God. I mean come on, we stinkin' get free 24 hr access to talk to the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE. This trumps having Theo James's personal number on my speed dial, which I do; in my dreams. Come Sunday, I was giddy with excitement to teach my lesson! Don't worry it's totally normal...I think.

Parenthood is something else. The odd things I have begun to do are probably typical, at least I tell myself that! Here are some new things that I find happening every-so-often. If you can relate, wonderful, that means we can pretend this stuff is normal together!

A Belated Update

February 23, 2018 Dear friends and family,  Hello to you! We write this from the Salem NICU. Here we sit and watch the sky lighten and darken in a morphed cycle of hours that have all blended together. Cody and I have received your text messages and read your Facebook comments. Please accept our  apologies for the lack of information or response. Here is an update for all of you who have been wondering about our current situation. Where to start? We found out we were expecting, approximately three days after Cody cancelled his vasectomy and relented to go for “one more baby”. At 15 weeks I measured what would be a normal 20 week size. Two heart beats would clear up that confusion. Surprise! Cody replaced his hesitations about having three children with extreme excitement to have four. I however, was slightly terrified.
