The genealogy from Adam to Noah.
In this chapter we also see how long people lived and when they died. Commentaries say that these lines are included in the bible for several reasons: to track the lineage to Jesus, who would be born in the line of Abraham, to show Gods attentiveness to every person, knowing them by name and finally to aid the passing down of events at this time since information was transferred orally.
The part I found most interesting was Enoch. Enoch is the only person whom it mentions, "walked with God" and rather than dying, it says that he simply, "was no more". Makes you wonder, right?
