Crescent Lake 2014

It wouldn't be summer without the annual Prescott camping trip at Crescent Lake!

Pros: I wasn't nine months pregnant and we had our 'Love Trailer'
Cons: It rained and Easton got pink eye

Click 'more' for the skinny on our trip and some pictures.

Pro #1 The Love Trailer

Cody is a sprinter. I enjoy long, slow jogs. Cody watches movies. I read books. Cody asks for a back scratch. I ask for back tickles.
We were searching for a new hobby that we both enjoy doing-together. Introducing our Love Trailer! The phrase, 'great things come in small packages' does, in fact, pertain to this cozy two-wheeled beauty.

After pulling this gem out of the briers, Team Prescott (Cody and I) gut her out and pressure washed off the moss, (surprise, it's white!). My gifted and creative husband applied his carpentry skills and built the interior storage compartments, put in a structural frame for the fiberglass top that had caved in, and in-placed a system to interchange a table for a queen-size bed, all of which can fit in the storage. During this time, I  painted the interior and sewed custom curtains and cushion covers. We topped her off with new windows, tires, brake lights, and hitch.

Vuwahla! I present to you, the 2014, top of the line, new and improved, oh so luxurious: Love Trailer.

Sweet success!

Pro #2 The Sunny First Day!

Pretty self-explanatory, the first day was awesomely sunny and everyone played it up.

Con #1 The Rain Comes

Everyday past the first, it was cold and wet. We however, made the best of the unfortunately soggy situation. That is, from the inside of Jessica's much larger and heated trailer.

Con #2 Easton's Pinkeye

Not long into our stay, my beautiful baby boy came down with what we assume was the viral form of pinkeye. Poor guy had it rough.

*Note: I had read that breast milk has antibiotic properties. Since there were few doctors out in the boonies, I went ahead and applied (squirted) breast milk to his swollen eyes. It did in fact work!

To end on a good note, I leave you with

Pro #3 I wasn't nine months pregnant!

And there you have it!
A soggier trip then expected, yet we overcame!
Because we are

An Updated Update

Excitement and terror. Those two feelings were playing a heated game of Tug o’ war on my uncertain state of mind. Then, they met up with thankfulness and guilt, for a round of doubles. We were leaving the NICU. Why the battle of emotions? Here is the current update on Annette, Charlotte, and the rest of us Prescotts.  No more goodbyes and counting the days until we will see the boys next; this week we got to go home! It happened so fast. During the weekend we trained how to insert and maintain Charlotte's NG tube on our own, and then, badda-bing, badda-boom, we were discharged! We gathered our belongings and walked straight out the door with baby girls in tow, just as I had imagined it from inside alcove #3553, for 47 days. It would have been all sunshine and roses too, if not for the previous day. The baby didn't make it. I didn’t need to see the blotchy cheeks and tear-stained faces of family members to put it together; in the NICU you just listen to the beeps. Dings a...

Throw back to Pregnancy #1
