Alright Mrs. Bolden, Challenge Accepted

Christy Bolden is a brave women, that I had the pleasure to meet through Monmouth Christian Church almost a year ago. This beauty of a gall spends her days teaching and serving others. Whether she is teaching music to a classroom of students or offering time and effort at church functions, she wears a big smile and keeps an eye out for more opportunities to help those around her. For example; young mothers that can't cook. Her bravery has enabled her to endure my crazy, baby ran, often messy home for a visit each week and teach me more about cooking.  My family has greatly benefit from these weekly lessons and I must admit, I am growing more confident around dinner time.  As a nudge of encouragement, this cookbook was left on my doorstep one afternoon. For the first time in my twenty four years of life, I went through a cookbook and recorded the page numbers of each appetizing recipe. Let's see about this slow cooker business, shall we?

A Party for Obadiah Honeycutt

I recently had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for Miss Elizabeth Honneycutt and the fresh from the womb, oh so cute, Obadiah Honeycutt. We had a fun day spoiling this beautiful mother of two. We even put the big boys to work,  as her little minions.  Here are some of the pictures capturing our fun afternoon:

Painting for Kiana

My sister-in-law, Kiana, and I have a lot in common. We are both Prescotts,  for one. We are both capable of eating large quantities of food, for two. Lastly, we both love to sing. The only difference is that when she opens her mouth what comes out sounds beautiful. For that reason, I wanted to make her a painting that reflected her gift and passion for music. More Artwork

Painting for Easton Alden

Easton's middle name is Alden. John Alden was the navel architect of the May Flower- which is why you may be familiar with the Alden sailboat brand common today. Until we win the lottery, we won't be gifting him one of these beautiful voyagers for oceanic travels, however, I wanted to give him something with similar sentiment. (Aside from a inner tube and toy boat of course). Tah-dah. *WARNING* not made for flotation purposes. More Artwork

Painting for Taylor

Oh February 14th, you little bugger you! You arrive each year with your Valentines candy, flowers and heart shaped cards, putting high romantic expectations on couples nation wide. This year you went too far. You sent one of you cupids to sucker shoot my brother in law. He approached me with a request to make a gift for his lady friend, the beautiful Taylor Huffman. His only requirement was that it have her favorite verse; John 3:30. 'He must become greater; I must become less' Well here it is, I hope you are happy. More Artwork

Christmas Crafts of 2013

Nothing says, "I care about you," like a homemade Christmas gift. Here are some that I attempted this year: Other Crafts

Going Home Outfits

As I neared my due date, I attempted to busy myself with all of the last minute preparations. Going through my mental checklist of things to pack, I realized that we needed outfits for the way home! I decided to sew Baby Easton a plaid adorned onesie. This plaid family left that hospital lookin' fly!  Other Crafts

The Loom

I busted out the ol' loom the other day and told Cody I would make him a beanie. It didn't take long at all! Next time I will use thick yarn and try a different technique to make it a little hardier.  Other Crafts

Crafts for Baby Easton

Throughout my pregnancy, as my excitement grew to meet little baby East on, I started passing by the time with many small baby crafts.  The first items I made were baby burp rags. My lovely friend Renee happened to have scrap material that was soft and cozy, so I used those bits and in a quilting fashion made a small little spit catcher. I am guessing these are too small to drape over your shoulder and get the job done, but they were fun to make. Who knows, maybe they will come in handy at some point!  For Codys birthday we had our 20 week ultrasound. To follow the theme, I wanted to make something dad/baby incorporated for his gift. I bought white generic onesies at Walmart and began to embroider. This is a very fun craft because onesies are a blank canvas and there is no pattern required.  My father-in-law does construction and is currently building a triplex in town. Every once and a while when I walk through the job-site there is a scrap piece of wood that sparks a

Picture for Joey

This is a drawing using pastel, the first and  only   time I have used pastel. My brother liked it and so vwalla it is his! Don't you think they have the same style of facial hair going on?! More Artwork

Make-up of Future Cody

To my great surprise, Cody allowed me to use his face and try out a different medium: stage make-up!  I was so excited to work with such a handsome canvas! I decided to see what he would look like in his prime. I'm hoping that as long as I stay away from anything girly he will let me keep doing this! More Artwork

A Sketch and Pottery Work for Jim

In highschool I took a pottery class and decided to make the head of Jim, my stepfather. I thought it was funny at the time...and I still think it is! I laugh each time I see it in my parents living room!  I also did a drawing for him of a great catch he made a while back. More Artwork

A Painting for Gabe

I happen to have a very cool nephew, who went through a Pokemon stage. For his birthday last year he decided he would like a painting of Mr. Pikachu himself. To that I say, "As you wish." More Artwork

Sketch of my Hunky Husband

Here is a little drawing of my handsome husband I did. He hates it because it isn't a flattering angle but I say, hosh posh to your angle! More importantly, will ya take a look at that five o'clock shadow?!  More Artwork

A Painting for the Honeycutts

Cody and I decided to get married only because it seemed like the cool thing to do after our friends  Heath and Elizabeth   tied the knot. OK, that might not be completely true, but they   did  tie the knot, and so I painted them a picture! Looking back maybe something along the lines of marriage would have been more appropriate but I chose to paint a picture of a girl, hands risen and worshiping God. Why? -because Heath told me once, while snowboarding, that the moment he knew he would marry Elizabeth (aka Bug) was when he went to visit and found her in her car, hands risen and singing out praises to God. I don't want to give Heath too much credit, but he made a good choice with picking Bug.  More artwork

A Painting for Rachel

For my sister-in-law,  Rachels ', birthday she wanted a picture of her and her son. As I began, I started to think of the danger in painting a woman and having her not like how she looks in the picture! If you have ever seen my sister-in-law you know that she is gorgeous so I  really  didn't want my amateur skills to be mistaken for any imperfections! I took the easy way out and found an image that was of a mother and son. I later discovered this image originally came from the Willow Tree figurine. More artwork

A Painting for Haley Sue

For my beautiful teaching friend/The Office enthusiast, Miss  Haley Christensen , I painted a picture of Dwight K. Schrute. Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica. more artwork

A Painting for Toby

My rock star of a brother-in-law,  Toby , had an excellent picture taken during a football game a year or so ago. I did my best to put it on canvas. You are a stud Tobicina!!!   more artwork
