Chapter 11

The Tower of Babel

In this chapter men find a plain in Shinar, Babylonia, and decide to build a giant tower, to show their own greatness. This is when God confuses the language and scatters people all over the earth. They then stopped building the city. This is why is called Babel, which sounds like the Hebrew for confused

We also build our own personal towers. Today it is more common to show off our own greatness by building ourselves up through achievements, possessions, professions etc. It is important to remember that while there is nothing wrong in these things themselves, they cannot be where we find our own self worth and identity; that is Gods domain. Once any other item or activity replaces Gods position in our lives, then it has become an idol. Do you see a 'tower' being built in your life?

The rest of this chapter is the line from Shem to Abram.
More to come on Abram!

God Speaks Through Skinny Fingers

When I had Easton, I think he zapped such a large amount of calcium from my bones that my fingers shrunk. I have no medical knowledge to support this claim, but for whatever reason, all ten digits are significantly more slim. While I have no objection to daintier, more feminine hands, it does pose one problem: my wedding ring no longer fits. For awhile I tried wearing it regardless; but the first time I enthusiastically told a story, using my hands to talk, that circular symbol of unity went soaring. I set my beautiful sparkly band, so familiar to my left ring finger, in it's little box for safe keeping. 'He won't be gone long,' I comforted my now naked ,tan-lined finger. Eight months later.... Not wearing my wedding ring wasn't doing it for me. First off, I got hit on several times by some creep...

PREGNANCY 101

Easton Alden Prescott We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first son, Easton, for the past eight months. This adventure has been wonderful and exciting from the get-go! Here is a little synapses of our journey! My favorite part, so far, was telling Cody that he was going to be a Daddy-o. With some help from Robbie, I had him convinced that we were all going to the park to take some goofy pictures. Below are pictures of what he really found at our destination.  I found a GREAT song for breaking the news to family or friends in a special way. While Cody opened the ring box,  I played this in the background .  When the message got across, Cody started to tear up, causing his eyes to become hidden behind to lenses of fog.-Adorable!  ______________________________________________________ During the first couple of weeks there was little physical change happening. We spent our time getting used to th...
