How to make eating healthy fun!

Come the winter months, it gets easier to spend our days nestled in our homes next to the heater. We find ourselves watching more t.v. than usual and snacking on yummy seasonal treats. Don't forget the warm frothy drinks that are a must when the weather gets chilly! Although I love it all, I have a feeling come the bikini wearing months I will deeply regret these high calorie decisions.

Eating healthy doesn't have to be a drag. It just means trading out the processed and sugary food for natural and fresh options. I find that the first things I must do is go to the grocery store and stalk my fridge with a variety of fresh fruit and veggies. Make it fun! One way to do just that is through smoothies and homemade juices. Conveniently,  my friend Sarah just so happens to have a juicer. Along with this powerful machine of juicing goodness, came a booklet of recipes.

New year's day passed by without bothering to assign me a resolution, so come January 13th, Sarah and I decided to make ours the goal of trying each and every recipe in the juicing booklet at least once this year.

I'll keep you posted (literally I will post) on each of these adventures. Maybe you'll see something that looks worth trying out!

It happened so fast. During the weekend we trained how to insert and maintain Charlotte's NG tube on our own, and then, badda-bing, badda-boom, we were discharged! We gathered our belongings and walked straight out the door with baby girls in tow, just as I had imagined it from inside alcove #3553, for 47 days. It would have been all sunshine and roses too, if not for the previous day. The baby didn't make it. I didn’t need to see the blotchy cheeks and tear-stained faces of family members to put it together; in the NICU you just listen to the beeps. Dings a...
