Don't worry it's totally normal...I think.

Parenthood is something else. The odd things I have begun to do are probably typical, at least I tell myself that! Here are some new things that I find happening every-so-often. If you can relate, wonderful, that means we can pretend this stuff is normal together!

1. Mental high-fives take place whenever I pick a satisfyingly big booger from my child's nose.
2. If ever there is a urinary attack mid diaper change,  I have no problem using my hand to direct the flow downward. If successful, another mental high-five is granted.
3. I regularly catch myself pretend-eating my baby and saying, "I am going to eat you!"...I also occasionally nibble on his earlobes.
4. There is a scale for spit-up, best being, basically drool and worst being, basically goat cheese. This scale is used to determine urgency and necessity of finding a spit-up rag.
5. Have you pealed the remnants of a sunburn? Kinda fun, right? Ever heard of cradle cap? A sunburn pickers heaven! Its my newest time sucker since discovering Instagram.
6. While nursing, I often realize that for the past 5-10 minutes I have been repeatedly kissing my baby's fingers, completely zoned out.
7. The most unseen part of my baby is his armpits. I checked them out the other day...weird.
8. Now that my baby has gotten adorable fat rolls, I assimilate changing a poopy diaper to a game of hide-and-seek.
9. Confession: I have walked away from a blowout so that my husband would be the "first" to discover it.
10. If an article of clothing has not been saturated in either the fluids from the north or south locations of my child, it shall continue to be worn regardless of the duration of time. Clean until proven dirty!

Throw back to Pregnancy #1

We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first son, Easton, for the past seven months. This adventure has been wonderful and exciting from the get-go! Here is a little synapses of our journey!

An Updated Update

Excitement and terror. Those two feelings were playing a heated game of Tug o’ war on my uncertain state of mind. Then, they met up with thankfulness and guilt, for a round of doubles. We were leaving the NICU. Why the battle of emotions? Here is the current update on Annette, Charlotte, and the rest of us Prescotts.  No more goodbyes and counting the days until we will see the boys next; this week we got to go home! It happened so fast. During the weekend we trained how to insert and maintain Charlotte's NG tube on our own, and then, badda-bing, badda-boom, we were discharged! We gathered our belongings and walked straight out the door with baby girls in tow, just as I had imagined it from inside alcove #3553, for 47 days. It would have been all sunshine and roses too, if not for the previous day. The baby didn't make it. I didn’t need to see the blotchy cheeks and tear-stained faces of family members to put it together; in the NICU you just listen to the beeps. Dings a...
